Skills in Demand Visa (SID) Subclass 482
The subclass 482 Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa has been replaced by the Skills in Demand (SID) visa.
This is a temporary visa allowing an employer to sponsor a skilled overseas worker to fill a position they cannot fill locally.
This visa enables employers to address labour shortages by bringing in skilled workers where employers can't source an appropriately skilled Australian worker.
The SID allows most visa holders to stay in Australia for up to 4 years.
Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) - subclass 494 Visa
The subclass 494 visa has replaced the RSMS 187 Direct Entry visa. There are 9000 of these allocated per year for regional Australia which includes all areas excluding Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

About this visa:

5 years validity with PR eligibility after 3 years

Must be under 45 years of age at time of application

Must have been employed for a minimum of 3 years full time in your nominated occupation

Must have a positive Skills Assessment, competent English (Dependent partners over 18 Functional English) and Police clearances

No Private Health Insurance required as full access to Medicare

Available to applicants on both MLTSSL and STSOL
Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa - Subclass 186
This is a permanent residency visa available to applicants already living and working in Australia and to those living offshore.

There are no conditions for visa holders and family members can be included.
​
The 186 has two streams : Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) or Direct Entry (DE).
​
To apply in the TRT stream, you must be the holder of a subclass 457, 482 or bridging visa granted in association with one of these subclasses. You must have been employed in sponsored employment for a total of 2 years in the 3 years prior to making your application. No Skills Assessment is required.
​
To apply in the DE stream, you may be either onshore or offshore. You must have at least 3 years relevant experience and a valid Skills Assessment.
​
This visa requires a nominating employer and a competent level of English language ability of IELTS 6.0 / PTE 50 or equivalent.
